What is BPA?

BPA is the abbreviation for Bisphenol A, a compound which is used to make polycarbonate plastic. BPA can cause health problems especially when heated as the heat causes chemicals to leach from plastic. Our bottles and caps are BPA free. BPA is also banned to be used in baby bottles in the European Union (see also the press page). With our BPA free water bottle UK you are on the safe side!

Are the bottles made out of stainless steel?

Our BPA free water bottles are made of 18/8 Stainless Steel which is a non-corrosive, non-leeching, dish washer safe steel used in flatware and cookware. 18/8 Stainless Steel does not require an enamel or plastic coating as it is a non-porous material and will not transfer taste or smell to liquids. 18/8 Stainless Steel is consumer safe.

Are the caps safe?

Yes, the Green Bottle™ caps are consumer safe too. They are made from #5 Polypropylene which is a hard, heat-resistant resin that is used to manufacture many consumer-grade food containers. It is considered to be a 'safe plastic' and contains no BPA or phthalates. The caps are also dishwasher safe.

How about the paint on Green Bottles™? Is there any lead in there?

The paints used to produce our BPA free water bottles are a non-toxic, stress-resistant, water based acrylic and are consumer safe! All paints and parts have been tested rigorously through T.U.V. SUD for lead content. Green Bottles are certified by the National Sanitation Foundation International as a foodstuff product.

Are the bpa free water bottles leakproof?

Yes, our stainless steel BPA free water bottles are leakproof. Just make sure that the spout is shut properly. If you ever come across a leaking cap please get in touch and we will replace it for you.

How do I clean my Green Bottle™?

Your Green Bottle is recommended to be washed by hand with a non-abrasive sponge, dish soap and warm water. If you decide to wash your Green Bottle in the dishwasher please use a low temperature programme with a cool dry setting otherwise the paint will come off after a while. I myself rinse the stainless steel bottle out and put the caps in the dishwasher as they are dishwasher safe.

What can I fill into my BPA free water bottle by Green Bottle™?

Green Bottles™ are safe for all drinkable liquids, such as water, carbonated beverages, juice, tea, coffee and alcohol. Just rinse out your BPA free water bottle by Green Bottle™ when changing from one beverage to another. Filling it with hot liquids is not recommended though as the Green Bottle™ is not double walled like a thermos. So hot liquids will transfer the temperature to the outside of the bottle and it might get very hot.

Can I put my Green Bottle™ in the freezer?

We do not recommend placing your Green Bottle™ in the freezer. As liquids freeze they expand which could damage your Green Bottle™. Additionally our BPA free water bottles keep the water cool throughout the day so putting them in the freezer is not necessary.

Is there a warranty that the Green Bottle™ come with?

Yes, our BPA free water bottles all come with a one year warranty against defects in manufacturing and workmanship. If you have an issue with that please get in contact (see contact page). The warranty doesn't cover normal wear and tear (for example scratches, dings or dents).

What's the minimum order quantity for wholesale?

The minimum order quantity for wholesale / trade is 24 bpa free water bottles only we recommend starting with 48 bottles though (as we got three different sizes and over 30 different designs). Our registered wholesaler can choose between our best seller assortments or they can make their own choice.

Why is Green Bottle™ a green product?

For many reasons the Green Bottle™ is considered to be eco-friendly or green. First of all it replaces disposable plastic water bottles which are harmful to our health and our environment. Additionally, our BPA free water bottles by Green Bottle are manufactured and distributed using eco-friendly business practices.

Stainless Steel vs. Aluminium

While the properties of both metals can be safe for consumer products aluminum tends to transfer taste and smells when used for liquid storage. Because of this, our competitors tend to use a plastic lining to reduce the absorption of taste and smell from certain liquids. Typically this lining is plastic which may contain chemicals such as BPA or phthalates that have shown to leech into food or liquids. Additionally, there have been recent studies that links aluminum to Alzheimer's disease. With our stainless steel bottles you are on the safe side.
